Remember the gas lines in the `70`s? We were "out of oil" back then?

About like now?
There is plenty of oil, but the OPEC wouldn't send any out. So no oil to make gasoline from. Lasted quite awhile. Luckily we had 2 cars with each an even or odd number. So could get gas any day. (after waiting in line forever)

Wow you know it can get bad when an AI chatbot responds.
In the 70's the oil crisis was because of OPEC restricting oil from the middle east. Now similar because once again oil is being restricted from the middle east for a different reason............war. Even if the war ends tomorrow the supply of oil is not all of a sudden going to bounce back to pre-war capacity. It is going to take a while for oil related products to drop, if they ever will. There is around 300 million vehicles in America, that is lot of oil changes

You do realize this is an Automotive related hobbyist forum right einstein.
Most of us old farts lived the 70's not heard about it from someone else.
You always assume everyone knows less about basic BS.
Tell us again about the 14 second TA with a stock olds motor.

I owned my own gas station when even-odd rationing was going on in the 70s, I put gas into whatever I wanted to, no matter what day it was.................

I gotta laugh a couple years ago when I was talking about extended oil changes and keeping the cost of changing oil down with a by pass oil filter. All I heard was oil is so cheap, and I can change it often without the advantage of safely extending oil changes with a by pass filter. It ain't cheap anymore.........

I'm saving even more money than I was before. Toilet paper is still very reasonable, much more reasonable than motor oil is.

Default Costco

Still the best deal on oil is at Costco. Just went last week and stocked up as usual because I have a few cars and only get to Costco every six months.
