On another one of these forums " Production Numbers Judges" this is where I got my information
"Oshawa built 288 Judges in 1970 NOT 442 The 442 # is the total # of 70 Judges Sold NEW in Canada in 1970 not the actual production of the Oshawa assembly plant.GM of Canada records every car regardless of where it was built as recorded total # sold new in Canada. The balance of 154 Judge cars are probably 50 RAIV Judge cars built from Pontiac head plant because Oshawa only built RAIII Judges and the other 100 or Judges are from other assemble plants in USA ie Freemont California is a lot closer to the western provinces of BC and Alberta than Oshawa. I hope this clarifies the #'s for everyone. Fred Simons is correct 288 Judges built in Oshawa. so where is this info from? That is correct. Here's the poop on the ones BUILT in Oshawa L74+M13=5 L74+M20=177 L74+M21=60 L74+M40=45 AND POSSIBLY ONE 455 auto car I'd Love to find. The other number is sold New in Canada.

The 70 Judge I had was an Oshawa built, export to US for sale. It was shipped to a dealer in Winchester, IN.

time to revive an old thread, in 1970 Oshawa produced 85 Pontiac GTO's for Canadian sale in color ( or colour if you are Canadian ) Orbit Orange, and 55 for US sale in color Orbit Orange. Hope this helps.

regarding this posting, there is a lot of mis information here:

WRONG! we built 1,866 GTO coupes in 1970 for Canadian sale in Oshawa, 442 with WT1, 526 with L74, 133 with L75. we built 3,014 for US sale, 288 with WT1, 379 with L74, 286 with L75. We can break down colour combinations, but call and order a history package and then you will have the info on your car. |

Orbit Orange was coded 06 in Canada, yes, 85 + 55 = 140.
Sorry did not mean to jump in so harshly, there was too much wrong info in that posting. |

George,
WELCOME! Are you going to be sharing more info on the Canadian built 1970? Or, other stats you may have on US built ones? |

Helped out with some tid bits there for you folks. GM usually only tracked one option at a time, so we can tell how many L74, or how many M40, and sometimes they doubled up on options but that is very rare. I can provide color breakdowns on the 70 GTO's from Canada, but, please appreciate we are a business so cannot give all the info away for free or would be online all day, but if you have a Canadian built car we can document it for you and provide production numbers. Unfortunately it is a time consuming process, but saw some incorrect info and tried to help out with that. If you have questions you can feel free to email or call, but I do not want to get accused of advertising here, and that is not my intent (george.zapora@cc.gm.ca or 905-440-7636). I will do my best to help or provide direction as to what we can do. With all the forums out there it is difficult to monitor all of them and still do work. Regards, and a good site, cannot figure out how I missed it before.
