FWIW-Some of the mid 60s big Buick guys have bought Kantor ball joints and found them to be offshore products. The walls of the ball joint housing were thinner than the old stock Moog, TRW, ect. One of the guys recently had a failure on one of those where the ball pulled out of the cracked/broken base. Luckily, he was going slow-but not a good situation.

I re-built the entire front end on my '63 GP and used a combination of parts from Kanter, Ames, PPY, Checker, Ebay, and Autozone. I do admit that it did take a while to get all the parts together but she rides sweet.

I am actually still listed as a vender at rare parts. I've had my best luck with them.

Have you tried a NAPA store? They had everything I needed to rebuild the front suspension on a 68 Catalina.

The 65 Lower Ball joints are discontinued from just about any source, You are only going to find them on the Web, NOS, or in one of the Kits from the aftermarket warehouses like Kanter. Kanter has them in a kit, not sure if they sell individual Ball Joints.
I had to buy mine from a Parts House outside of Cleveland OH, that deals in 1980 and older cars, They found some NOS pieces for me. A&D Autoparts 440-237-9300. Good luck on your search. |

I also got parts for my 65 on the web. Bushings are easy. Most parts stores should be able to get them since Moog still makes them. I got tie rod ends and ball joints from various sellers on ebay. My uppers are NOS GM, and the lowers are OEM TRW's...or vise versa. Anyway, there're all new, and fit like a glove. If you're not hellbent on getting them ASAP, wait and buy them on ebay. They come up for sale often, plus, you'll save a substantial amount of cash. $70 per ball joint? That's a rip. I think mine were about $20 a piece when all was said and done!

I had to get mine from Kanter as well. No one in Chgo area had them. I was surprised since a ball joint is pretty common.
