Hey Guys,
As stupid as this sounds, I am contemplating getting rid of the T tops in my TA and going to a Hard Top because fo the Speed and amount of power that will be induced on this car. Before it was a low 13s high 12s car, when all is said and done I am looking at a mid 9s car and I am a little wary about those T-tops coming loose on me. While I will have a full cage with bars into the engine compartment, I am not too worried about twisting issues, but I am thinking those guys may blow away...LOL. Has anyone attempted, seen, or accomplished this insanity before??? It really does not seem like too daunting a task. What do you guys think??? Am I insane??? Thanks in advance, Dave (Bandit)

i know you could do a roof transplant. but a guy i know from work has a 77 z28 that had t tops and the orignal owner welded some metal into the t top holes and filled it up. I would imangine it would take some decent amount of body work

After seeing the poor quality of T top gaskets out there and chasing a T top leak for a year on my son's 81 TA driver I understand completely. My 78 currently runs high 10s with T tops and never popped one out.

yeah I replaced gaskets three times before I finally got most of the leaks stopped.

im having the t top gaskets replaced in my car right now while its getting pianted. I used the metro seal gaskets which i hear are the best for t tops right now. If you use the GM seals your only asking for leaks because they are in such bad shape its sick. and besides a leak shouldent bother ya if you dont drive it in the rain, and when you wash it put a towell in the car
