Does anyone have a source that can restore the ribs on a 64 GTO tail lights and re-chrome? Mine are pitted and I would like to get them filled and re-chromed.
Thanks Jim

I have the same problem and would like to know the same. Also, I've noticed the sections between the tail lights are supposed to be painted red, regardless of what color the car is painted. What color red is it supposed to be?

the color betreen the ribs is like a marimba red translucent but I found a candy that is very close. as far as the ribs I have a few sets that need the same . a friend of mine sent his console out to a place that said they would machine it down between the ribs and reface it long story short they ruined his console .still looking for someone to do the process

guamted,
The paint number for the Marimba Red color is - Du Pont 4532-L - Ditzler DDL-43264 - Rinshed Mason A-1613 I went to the a local NAPA store and they were able to pull up the correct paint mixture for the Marimba Red for me using this information. Good luck

I spoke with Paul's Chrome in Pa. about two weeks ago regarding restoration of a complete '64 GTO tail panel. They said they'd have to see it before they would give a firm price but generally they can do one for $1200-$1500. This is consistent with what others have told me a reputable pot metal restoration shop will charge for that piece.
