If anyone needs reference photos of an original 67 GTO I have them. I took high quality shots of an original showroom condition unmolested 67 GTO at the cruisin OC show in Maryland. Original owner has kept the car in a climate controlled garage and has only changed the oil and tires since his purchase. I have a nice photo of the engine compartment if someone is looking for paint finishes or compartment setup. The car is a tyrol blue original paint and painted pinstripe. It still has the original trunk weatherstripping in great condition. Interior shot is good for paint finish reference also, original black interior. I have four high quality photos that can be zoomed in. I couldn't post the pics, so if you would like them just email me. [email protected]

Is the owner claiming that the engine compartment is completely 'untouched' since new?

The last. I had to resize so the quality is not as good, but at least everyone can see them.
Thanks

Weak,
I definitely disagree with your "nowhere original" comment. It is very rare to find a car this age in this condition. I was mainly using this as an example of paint finishes both inside and out. Maybe you didn't catch my comment of regular maintenance. A couple of these things may have needed to be replaced, but its not my car and I couldn't tell you for sure. You also weren't there and pictures don't tell it all.

One thing I can say, is that the coloration is very correct. Notice the degree of gloss on the inner fenders, radiator cradle, and heater box. Then notice that the firewall is a different and lower gloss. The firewall was painted with the floorpan and this is what most restorers miss. They paint everything the same. The things I question are that the engine itself simply looks 'too fresh', but I wasn't there, I didn't see it in person. The camera can sometimes play tricks. Also, the wire type heater hose clamps were changed to Witek clamps in early 65, and Pontiac used ribbed heater hose, not GM stamped hose as Chevy did, of course this could have been changed during reg. maintance. I just don't believe it is completely 'untouched' except for oil changes. There looks like there has been some detailing. That being said. It is a super nice car. I sure wish it were in my garage. And it is a super example of the coloration of early GTO's. Thanks for posting the pics.
