Any idea/guestimates of how many of the 88 RA IV Tas have surfaced? Of those wonder how many are still matching numbers...

I found a 70 RAIV/4spd white/blue deluxe, am/fm st. & tilt in Sacramneto last month. It was in Cal. since new, still had orig. plate. I found it on traderonline. It was a very difficult deal to do.

I saw that Sacramento car in person. It was at an indoor consignment lot called California Car Corral in Rancho Cordova Califoria, which is right near Sacramento. The car was built in Los Angeles and sold new in Los Gatos California, which is right near San Jose, so it was an original California car. It still had the original California blue license plates on it. It had the wrong engine and a later model shaker mounted to the underside of the hood but it was a pretty solid body. The rear seat was gone and there was a rollbar in it and I think they had cut the dash to add some gauges, but it certainly looked restorable to me. The original rally II wheels had been replaced by mags. He was asking $27,500 and it was a driver. Heck, it's one of only 59 RA IV, 4 speed cars so it was definately worth the money.

I dont remember where I saw it? But when i bought my 70 RA3 and i was researching it, I found something that said there were only 9 known RA4 cars known to still exist. Take it with a grain of salt. I wish I could remember where I saw the info.

Several years back, I sold a WW out of a 70 T/A. The T/A was sold new in NC at a dealership in Asheboro. NC DMV did not show the title being transferred after about 1975, and the car was never registered again. The car was registered to a woman with a very common last name. I went by the last known address, and the houses had been torn down and replaced with a strip mall. The locals had all moved when the city began growing and commercial replaced residential. I wasn't able to find any information, other than the houses along there were mostly rental.

The car was taken off the road in the mid-70s, supposedly because it was wrecked. I bought the remaining parts from a guy in the late 80s. As best I could tell, the car was destroyed after the parts were salvaged.

Barry Martin at Sonic Motors also had a 70 T/A that I think was sold new in NC. I'm not sure what ever happened to that car.

There is a guy in western NC that has SD455 T/As and did a full restoration on a 70 Ram IV T/A.

That's about all of the Ram IV cars I personally know of.

I know of a car that was in North Dakota. I talked with him about 2 months ago and he said he sold it to someone in Wisconsin. This was a white car, 4 speed, no a/c with blue interior. This was a complete basket case. What I remember most about the car was that it was so rusty the VIN tag rusted off, but the old owner claimed he still had the tags. I do remember checking the date codes of the heads to the Data plate, and they were very close.

The blue car on line for 110k is not even a real ram air 4 car. The dealer bought the car at Mecum auction about a month ago and paid under 30k for the car. The car was at the last two auctions and did not get over 26k.

HI, thanks! eaglesan13. It was there for alittle while. The owner had it just for a month or so, he was not 100% versed w/whole history. The 70 raiv TA was a supersolid orig RAIV TA. All orig panels/tranny/rear! I did get rear seat. A prev. post lists it needed gone through, most do, but this car is a super solid orig. A prev. post also lists these cars @ 150k, so I must of got a great deal, given a 35k resto. It a RAIV CAL. TA. tilt/am/fm st. deluxe blue int. I really love it, & have gathered over 20 yrs a cache of nos that will used.
It was raced in 70/1 @ Laguna Secca through SCCA.

Yeah I saw that sacramento 70 ra iv ta on Trader also (vin L110136). I spoke with the previous owner at length a few times. Too bad the matching numbers RA IV motor is long gone. : ( From his description and the many photos he sent, it pretty much needs to be gone through in my opinion. Still its nice to find one of the 88. Given what full off restos run these days plus fact its not numbers matching, the $27,500 he was asking seemed to be a pretty fair price.

There was a white 4 speed car that won stock class at the T/A Nationals this year. It was a concours restoration. That car is from North Carolina.

The ram 4 on traderonline is a ram 3 car with a ww motor , and 73 seat belts. I have the ram 4 #'s and what color they came in and his didn't match up. I emailed him and told him about his mix up and he wasn't going to change anything. Go Figure. There is one in Arizona ( sorry can't disclose the city ) a blue on blue 4 spd. that was bought in San Antonio Texas . Trying to locate this guy. It's a job

I had my 69 RAIV TA done about 3 yrs ago. I had taken car car completely. I chased down all nos, took all stuff to chrome/mtr shops etc. The shop had had 750 hrs @ $30 per hr. I had all toll about 35 k. I agree now most shops are aboput $40/5, & if you don't do most oparts chasing & runing things around you could put 60/70k into it. Radio knobs, shifter, door panals, window cranks, steering wheel, gauge trim bezels. This car is not exactly original and thats just on the inside.
