What are the widest tires I could fit under the rear wheels. I don't mind grinding off some of the stainless steel trim rings. I am thinking of using 15" wheels, ralley II's . Will 15X8's work ? or what else would you recommend and what is the offset?

I have 15x8 rims with 5" backspacing on my 66 gto with 255\60\15 tires they don't rub any.

I have 15 x 8 Convo Pro 4 7/8" back space with 10.5" ET street slicks. I had to trim the wheel well moldings on the inside about a 1/2" to clear.
