Bad diodes in the alternator can make it drain back fast. To check easy & fast, unhook the batt ground wire. if you get a spark you have current.then unhook alt wires. if spark are gone when you touch ground wire to post, the alt is the problem. If no spark then the next step is to get your batt load tested.Maybe it's just hooped & won't hold a charge.
