Carb is a 850 demon.....Not the easiest to tune. Very temperature sensetive, but I am no means a expert carb tuner.

I bought the aircleaner assmbly at Carlisle this past weekend, I run the ram air pan, or a spacer and regular element too, I just wanted to change things up a little. Problem with the ram Air pan, is that it hides so much of the engine detailing.

Exactly, all that money you spent restoring those carbs, and you can't even see them.

When Kaufman built my engine, he said, that the Ram air will add about 20 hp, but a 1 inch spacer will also add about 20hp. So it's a wash really.....
Build it like you want it.

Your engine is sweet, let's hope the exhaust heat doesn't start cooking any of that engine paint.
The sound of a Tri power opening up is worth the money.
I have a aluminum intake for a tripower at home, I'm going to install some trip's too, yes, I know on a 67, but the sound is incredible. Tripowers are not cheap, if you do it right. If not, you will be messing with them all the time.

I painted the heads with silver high temp paint before the blue.... the blue is already burning off the exhuast ports with 103 miles on it!

Tripower works on any Pontiac engine, IMHO........ Your setup is killer though!

I really lucked out with my Tripower....... I bought my car in a million pieces, and the Tripower came with it. It has the correct front, center and rear carb, which are the hardest parts to find. The only thing I replaced on them is the center throttle shaft, the choke pull off and the lines. I am going to try to get one of those aluminum manifolds, and play around with gasket matching......

They are really easy to "tune" (because there really isn't that much to tune!). The biggest thing you have to mess around with is the float level. If you set them at factory position, you will most likely get fuel leaking at the bowl/airhorn gasket.

The Placement of the Turn Signals should be pre-set. with the opening in the grill for the wires to pass thru, the T/S is centered over the opening.

I don't have a "correct" answer for placement of the GTO Emblem. I centered mine as best as possible mid-way up and down and mid-way from center to the T/S.

That's what I did.
Maybe I have the grills switched?
Do yours look that low?
At the show last week, some had them Higher, and some where mine are, but more centered.
The grills are originals.

The GTO badge looks good, but the lights are too low. They should be vertically centered in the grill, like the '66.

I think even if you reverse the grills, they'll be too close to the top edge. Are the mounting tabs on the light housings centered or offset? Maybe the lights are upside down if that's the case..

The '66 is easy, since the rear part of the housing is molded into the grill.

I don't like to nit-pick, because you did a beautiful job on your car! But, I noticed that you have your MSD blaster coil mounted on its side and not straight up like the mounting instuctions called for. I also wanted to mount my blaster coil like that. Just before I drilled the holes I read in the instructions that MSD says it must be mounted upright.

I called the tech line for some clarification and was told that the reason for this is because when they fill it with oil and seal the case they don't get all the air out of it. If it is mounted on its side the air bubble will obviously go to the top and the potential exsists for the windings to become exposed out of the oil and short the windings to the case.

I've seen many mounted in this fashion and have not heard about any problems but I just thought I would let you know. BTW just to be safe I mounted mine straight up.

John, part of the reason, was I first got the new coil, it came with that Power Tower top, and no wire end/boot to fit the end of the coil. The power tower stuck up to far, so I tilted it. But it was so ugly, I replaced the coil wire, and Just left it there, I suppose I could stand it back up.

Rugrat.. Here is a pic of my front end.. Your's looks a little low, (maybe the angle of the pic) but your GTO badge looks good. Oh, BTW.. YOUR CAR LOOKS AWESOME!!!! I'M SOOOOO JEALOUS!!! I hope we get to hook up at a few events next year!!!

I double checked things last night. The lights are perfectly positioned over the holes.
So either the grills are backwards, if that can be done, or my lights are reversed, they were the repop's from PY, and I can't remember if they were marked L and R, I will pull them off and check, But in 3dueces pic, they look low, high angle pic, but they look low.

I stood the coil up last night, and I like it sideway's better. I will just order a spare, in case it crap's out. I'm gonna get a chrome coil clamp though....

I would love to see more pic's of the fronts of other 67's.
