Hi, i have a 70 gto that i have had for about 19 years. I want to repair some cancer that has turned up in the left rear quarter and will be repainting it afterwards. The problem is it midnight blue and has a dark blue interior. I wanted to change the exterior color but can't really decide on what would go best with that existing blut interior. The car came with the judge wing and i will retain that. What do you guys think about orbit orange with the judge stripes [yellow, red, blue]? Or what other color?

I think you're limited with the interior color. I canged my gark green with black and painted exterior red.

One of the prettiest photos of a '70 I've ever seen had a dark blue interior. It was a Palladium Silver hardtop.

Im doing a Atoll blue/dk. blue conv now. I think a silver with the dk blue or a lighter shade blue with the dk blue would be pretty sweet. The dk blue with the white would be nice also. I agree they are not too eye catching as is dk/dk. Lots of nice newer colors available also if you not stuck on a 70 factory color

I think you can imagine what this would look like with dark blue interior. I think this car belongs to someone on this site. I couldn't find the pic of the one with blue interior but this is real close...

Thanks for the imput. i had a white car once , never again. Webster says white is the absence of color. If the interior wasn't in such good shape i would change it to black. Silver would be nice with the stripes. That blue interior really limits my choices. The blue on there is almost black Maby with some stripes it would jump out at you.

How about lucerne blue? Wasn't that a 70 color? I'd bet it would look great with a dark blue interior.

Lucerne was not available on the A-body. F-body only for 1970.
Bermuda Blue is close to Lucerne, and would lighten it up a bunch. It's a brighter blue, as opposed to the dark navy blues. Atoll would probably be in between Bermuda and what you now have. Lucerne Blue is a very pretty color, however. It has more of a silver tone to it, while Bermuda is more of a royal. I'd keep the car blue if it were me. |
