I know the traditional 69 TA color is white with blue stripes.....
But I have a diecast that is Orange with black stripes....was this an option? If so does anyone know the name of the correct colors? And what other color combos have you seen? Only other one I have seen with actual stripes is a red with white stripes.

I have the same one - it's in my daughter's room. Also have a smaller one that is all green.
No they only came in white with blue stripes.

hmm, wonder what the deal with orange with black stripes is then, maybe it was an article or something? I'm thinking when I build my "clone" <I say it like that because I'm not interested in cloneing, just like the look of the hood and wing> I am thinking about going a solid color, but the stripes really look nice.

Used to see one around Orlando that was black with gold stripes and tail panel. Very cool.

The correct color were as follows:
Base: Cameo White, code 50 (similar to Chevy Dover White) Stripes: Tyrol Blue, code F (actually a '67 color never offered on '69's) Interior: Dark Blue, code 200 (most common) Trans Ams were only offered in these paint colors only except for interior (black, white and dark blue as far as I know). The prototype was silver however. There were no '69 Trans Ams built any other colors by Pontiac except as noted. With that said, no orange cars with black stripes were offered by Pontiac. Doug |

Really,, I saw those stats somewhere recently. Let me look around for you!!
Hope the show was good saturday. I ran into a GTO club member who reported the show was good with a nice turnout. He said your TA was there! Sorry I missed it, but too much going on and want this addition finished!!!

Tellyshavilli,

It is interesting to note that in a memo to the dealers, dated March 7, 1969, and I quote; The revised Trans-Am Option is as follows: 1. ..... 2. ..... 20. Color - Cameo White with Blue Stripes is the only color available 21 Trims - The only Trim Colors available are Parchment-Black-Blue Officially the only colors that were supposed to be available were Parchment-Black-Blue as stated above. I can neither confirm nor deny, but there are rumors that there were some oddball builds as stated in the Sept 2003 issue of HPP, page 41: Weird T/A's (approximate) 2 T/A's with Green Interior 2 T/A's with Gold Interior 1 T/A with Red Interior 4 T/A's with Blue vinyl tops 1 Ram Air IV T/A with wire wheel covers I hope this clears up the interior color arguement. azbirds, Quote:
I used this information to choose the "correct" color to paint the stripes on my T/A. I compared the color to the original stripes and they appeared to be a perfect match. I hope this clears up the stripe color arguement. I try to interject my own opinion as little as possible. As a rule, I try to report what is written. Again I can neither confirm nor deny the accuracy of the written "facts". I just like to share the "facts" as I read them. But it almost always ends up in controversy. Doug |

Matt, where did the red interior TA go? Do you know where it still is? Did it get restored?
That has got to be a real pretty car!
