[1969 Ram Air]

Check this ad out: I bought this item and received only two nuts. The ad states that four nuts are required for my car and even shows a detailed picture of the four nuts on the car. Only two nuts are pictured so I guess I should have asked the question, but for $12 I think the kit should include four nuts or least state the fact that two nuts are included in the kit and instructions for purchasing two more.

I'm sorry but must disagree with your view of this ad. It plainly shows the two nuts and even tells you that there are 4 used on the entire car. Whether $12.00 is too much for 2 nuts I'll let others judge that. I'm just stating that I've this ad MANY TIMES on ebay and I've never taken it to mean that there were 4 nuts.

I think this was discussed on another post here a few months ago..post was why these are so special,etc..

I have to agree though, no mention of 4 so assume what's in the pic is all you're getting..Strangely enough, the pic showing them on the Waterneck is wrong...Not even close to what he has for sale...seems those on water neck pic could be aftermarket repops as I've never seen these on any of my original GTOs

Ok, I'll admit that I should have questioned it. It's buyer beware out there. At least it was an inexpensive item.

Is it just me, or do the slots in those nuts appear wider than the orginals?

From the pics in the auction, I do NOT believe they are an exact duplicate of the OEM slotted nuts.

Its my auction - I have sold lots of these in the past few years - the car can use up to 4 or 6 and the auction is clear and it pictures the 2 nuts. It also has the picture of the engine with the nuts on it to show where they go. The picture with the engine is just for reference - you do not get the engine - the car - the other parts - or anything else that is in the picture just the nuts.

They are correct in every way - have the slots and are the correct size shape and plating. Yes they are $6.00 each or you can go to the hardware store and put the ones on for a buck - but then the car would not be correct.

If you don't wan't them send them back for a full refund - If you had a problem you could of emailed me insted of complaining with out ever contacting me.

Strangely the picture showing them on the stud of the water neck is completely correct - Look at some original cars - It is also pictured in the assembly manual and in clear view in the R/T - SS - M/T - Hot Rod road test articlefor 69 - where they tested all the pontiacs and took pictures of all the engines - look on the Judge page - clear view of the engine and water neck - and guess what - slot nut

They were also used on the power steering adjustment studs - the manifold heat shield studs and under the valve covers to hold the shield to the head bolt stud. They are often missing because most never knew where they went after they took them off.

But if you don't like them or don't agree you do not have to buy them.

here is the link since the other auction is too old and does not come up - It never pictured 4 together in any of the pictures. The first picture to come up is the picture of the product and the small gallery picture is also of the 2 nuts. the reference pictures show 3 and then 1 never 4.

I went through your catalog for the first time, and its really nice!

Any plans to carry flywheel bolts? Stubby, slotted head 5/8 I think they are.

yep i got them - INL10291 - Page 15 first column - for the 4 speed flywheel they have dashes on the head and i think they are fine thread. The ones we make are not slotted but i think you are right the head is 5/8" here is the link

I just ordered 6 yesterday from e-bay (under my wife's account) so I'm anxious to see them. I still have the orginal slotted nuts on my 68 Firebird so I can compare them to those--I assume they are the same for both years. They look good in the picture.

Sorry, no way to verify what I saw in ad but seem to remember the pic did not resemble what you were selling, MM...but again I may be wrong and no way to check now that ebay ad is gone...Didn't mean to start anything...

It is the same ebay ad I have been running for years since the nuts came out. What does not resemble?

As I develope a new product item, as soon as it is done, it first goes into the inline tube catalog then on ebay to let everyone know it is available. I rarely ever change or update ads since I am on to the next item. So it is the same listing.

Ahhh..I see what I was talking about, MM...Look at the pic you have in ad of the actual nuts not installed: They have the slit cut on the flat side of the edges while the pic of the engine, they all seem to have slit on the 'V' of the hexagon (hard to explain)...

Let me know and I'll draw them on the pic if you can't see what I mean...

They are the same nuts pictured and used on the car - It also my car I installed them on and i took the pictures for the ad.
