Default Neighborhood Teen Problem Advice

Let me start by saying the my wife and I are getting divorced and this kid lives in the neighborhood where my daughter and soon to be ex live(my old residence). This kid is around 13 and is always saying smarta$$ comments to my 10 year old daughter(she has cerebal palsy) which got to the point where her mother confronted the kid and probably said some things she shouldn't have. The last few months, the door bell has been rang in the middle of the evening and then when my daughter or her mother answers no one is there. I'm sure it is this kid. Friday night, it culminated to the point where someone rang the doorbell and when my daughter opened the door, there was toilet paper and dog crap on the front porch. My daughter called me and I went to the house to see for myself. Wound up with her mother getting into a shouting match with this kids mom yelling across the street at each other. Really upset my daughter. Police were called, but nothing could be done since did not actually see this kid do it. This morning, I take my daughter home(she stayed with me for the night) and there is a egg splattered on the front door. I'm going to put a motion detector light on the front porch so it will go off when someone approaches. The law can't do anything since it's never been proven he did it. Any other suggestions other than maybe a video recording device on the front? Short of beating this kids a$$ myself(which would lead me to jail), getting really frustrated and feel bad for my little girl as it is really bothering her. It should be noted that his father is not in the picture and the dirt bag mother is taking his side regarding being innocent.

Hidden camera video. have the kid charged and sue the butt off of the deadbeat mom. If it keeps up after that they make good night vision scopes If you catch him on your property you can use any force nessassary to keep him there until the cops get there.

I have a cheap surveillance camera that I got when the local K-mart went out of business; even a new one today probably goes for less than $100. It has regular a/v connections, so you can connect it to a VCR or other recording device. Works great, even in low light / no light, and captures sound as well. I would think something like that would go a long way towards making your case to the police.

Wild game camera. Operates when it senses movement. One picture is worth a thousand words.....

Dobermans, pungy sticks, claymores, trip wires, etc.

The game cameras would work great for this. I think even most of the cheap cameras have motion activation, but I don't think they have a flash.

I haven't looked in awhile but aren't most wild game cameras still pretty good size, atleast hard to hide, like the size of a paperback book?

Look online or depending on where you live, there maybe a security store, or even wal-mart carries them I think.
But a small CCTV camera which mounts on your porch, preferablly a small one hidden up in a dark corner.
This then connects to a normal TV with a VCR, or DVD recorder, either wirelessly, or with a wire, your choice.
Set it to record, so will begin to record on movement, some will begin to record at a pre-set time, some record continuesly, only problem is, it will record over itself if you don't stop it.

For the price I am really interested in what this one can do.

Pay some other under-17 kid in the neighborhood $20 to beat the smarta$$ right outta him, hoepfully someone you can trust won't say anything about it to implicate you, even though you can just deny it. Worked for my dad back in 1973, when some neighbor kid mouthed off to my mother, dad payed another kid to give him an attitude adjustment. That boy never said a word to her again, and later went on to become a well-paid harbor pilot..maybe that a$$-kicking was just what he needed to succeed in life.

I have to agree with everyone here, if you want to take a legal path, then you really need that camera. Maybe, when presented with evidence, the mother will pull a 180 and smack the hell outta the kid. Either way, she's responsible for his actions, so she'll get the hell smacked outta her in court!

Personally, I'd sit in the window with my metal bb gun (one of those gas operated handguns) and shoot him a few times. They're not strong enough to pierce skin, not at that range anyway, but they'll leave a mark. A paintball gun would work nicely also. That could escalate things, though.

my thought exactly, especially if you know someone who's not from the area and will make a permanent impression while making it clear why it's happening.

it'd be worth 100.00 to me if it stopped the problem and i didn't have to get personally involved.

Camp out a few nights and maybe you'll catch him, or however is doing it. Just don't let him see you coming to watch. Let the cops know what your doing, and if he shows hold him until they get there. Good Luck!

If you can't go the camera route, get a sign and stickers saying property under Video Surveillance. Might deter him some anyway.

If I still lived there, I doubt the little bastard would be doing anything. Will definitely look into the camera route as I would prosecute him(and mother if possible) to the full extent of the law. The whole situation just makes me angry as it is making my little girl a nervous wreck as she's worried that he might do something to her. With everything she's gone through in life with her CP, she doesn't need crap like this going on around her.

Thanks for all of the overwhelming responses.

240 amp's to the door bell

That sucks Hoot.
Agree with the others on the camara deal.
Paying another kid may come back in bite you...although i like the idea of a ass kicking.
That's what the little basterd needs!

Ask the neighborhood kids when his birthday is, pay him a special visit when he turns 18.

Trust me, that thought is already in my mind. I'd like to put a good a$$ whoopin on him right now. I'm 6'6" and around 220 and an avid weight lifter. I'll be pushing 50 when he turns 18, but he wouldn't stand a chance.......

Find you a good size 16 year old.

Have him confront the little bastard, have him tell the little piece of sh!t that this is my best friend you're messing with and if you so much look at her again I will kick your little ass all over the neighborhood.

That should do it.
