Default Come on Summit.........

I am soon to upgrade my fuel system a little and found both pumps I need along with the best pricing at Summit. Online at Summitracing.com I notice that their M6405 carter picture seems incorrect. Everywhere (other retailers) else show a factory type, deep canister stamped pump with a return. Even Carter. Summit show one of their street/strip aluminum pumps with the "picture may not match" the item disclaimers. Just for a little clarification I emailed their "customer service" group and asked which it was and asked for a real picture or scan.
I get this reply back after 3 days;

the M6405 is the direct replacement for the 1974, 455 as used from the factory. The Competition pumps, such as the unit pictured, do not have the return line since it was never really required. As listed this is only a representative photo. As listed on the Web it has the return line.

Obviously "AC" put a lot of effort into his reply. None. So I pointed out that I wanted to buy a P4070 electric, an M6405 mechanical, a relay and a couple of other assorted items and hated to go somewhere else if there was some sort of mix-up.

After just a few minutes "AC" fired back....

As listed in the above description it has the factory return

So? Now it has the return? I explained that I had indeed read the description online and even seen the picture since those 2 items had prompted me to contact Summit for clarification "AC" must not be able to contact the world around him.

I order a fuel pump from there online store. I was not what was pictured. I contacted them for a return label. No problem. I then sent them an email telling them about there picture and how it was wrong and the pump they sent had a return line. This was six weeks ago. Looks like they didn't take my email seriously

David, In his email it stated that the pump pictured was a competition style pump & did not require a rtn line. I don't see were he states the pump you asked about does not include one. It does state on the website that the return line is included. If you need me to look at one to verify for you just let me know. Unfortunately its not that easy to get the correct picture up. Do you know how many different parts we sell. We try to get pictures for most items but there are some items that we just have not gotten to yet. Carter has many diff part#'s for there Muscle car pumps so in order to get the correct pic of each & every one of them would take allot of time. Were working on this stuff but there just is not enough time in the day. If you need something you can email me at [email protected] & i'll do my best to help you out. Thanks Scott

David I had to read AC's email twice, it's just that he first talked about the M6405, then talked about the picture, then finally answered the original question but didn't refer back to the M6404 only calling it "it".

So this must be the affordable deep canister pump with a return? I'm interested here because I think I need one.
