Well I bought another G/P
This time it's a 69 model J,near mint Black Comfortweave interior [ dash,console and door panels are still soft] and Vinyl top, White exterior, Hubcaps, 400, Th400, 82+ K on the clock, Engine doesn't turn for whatever reason. Parked in 1977. Over all a solid body, THis thing's extremely original. It needs paint and whatever mechanical. Options look to be A/C tilt, P/S ,P/B Vinyl roof.Protecto plate and owner's manual still in the console.Jack and spare are still in the trunk.
Overall a solid body, minor issues at the base of one 1/4, trunk lid has a hole in the lh side, right door has a fairly large dent in it that extends in the the front of the rh 1/4. Pics to come when I get time. Probably going to try and move the 65 GTO project and replace it with this car. Mike

nice find,are you going to restore it? i was up in new hampshire last week and found a 70 gp all original with a 455 i am in the process now of getting it trailored home to rhode island

I'll get it running first and then evaluate what the plans are. It'll not go to over restored concours condition because that's not what I buy cars for. I like the way they came from the factory and finshes /gaps ect weren't perfect then.
This one'll probably end up as a nice driver and will probably end up driven long before it's nice! Mike Mike

Sounds like a nice original car. When you check the engine to determine why it's not running I would check to see if the rotor turns.. timing chain might be gone.

The story, from what I understand, the guy rubbed the garage while parking the car, got it in it's spot and was disgusted and left it sit for 32 yrs in that spot.
It may be pistons stuck or a water pump. SUPPOSEDLY it ran when parked. I''ll post updates when I get there. Mike

Good time capsule... feels good when you bring one back to life. I'll be anxiously waiting for pics, sounds like the one I picked up, white with blue gut, it sat for 23 years.

Man... maybe if you cut that A/C belt off she'll turn over
 , known for bad pulley bearings. I got a kick out of the spring battery clamp, didn't know '69's had em.

Mike,I had a '69 GP with a 428 and it had also sat for a long time.The motor was also stuck,so myself and a friend pulled the engine thinking the worst.Ending up being the top of the cylinders had moisture in them from sitting.Ending up going .030 over and the crank stayed std/std.When we took it apart it ended up being the cleaniest engine the friend of mine ever pulled apart and he does that for a living,Good Luck.

Nice find, thats my favorite year Grand Prix could of boughta 69 SJ for $2500, 428 auto with owner installed tripower back in 1993. Unfortunately I was broke at the time. Love the 69-72 GPs.

I flipped thru the Ind Auto Rv today and noticed 2 more for sale in it. One semi local to me for less than 3k with 62k advertised, One supposedly completely restored for 7500 OBO in Indy. That car's been for sale for over a year and I'll bet a guy could buy it for 5k.
