Default Pi**ed At Door Weatherstripping

I am pi**sed at the door weatherstripping on my 66 GTO, I am on the second set of weatherstripping and both have torn loose at the wide tab (pin does not stay in the hole or pulls out of the material). The first set was from Ames and with the car beigh a fresh restoration I figured the door was just tight, well now the second set from PY has done the same thing, they were put on two years ago and started coming loose at the start of the summer and now are shot. It is mainly the drivers door (it get the most use).

Whats the solution? Try metro, soft seal, steele or what? This is getting old and it looks like **** when you open the door. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks
Larry

I used soft seal. No problems. I did mine in the summer too. Put them in, slam the door. Park in the sun with the windows up. Helped form the stuff, so the door would close correctly.
Is the hole for the pin too big? Or the pin too small? Maybe a little sealer/adhesive would help in that trouble spot?
Comes loose at the same place?

As I best remember the pin seemed a little tight, but when in. It tear loose at the same point- where the tab is at the top the pin goes in. That tab just rips off after a while.

None that I see, door fits good with good gaps, so its not a door issue. I think it is just the way these seals are made--tabs are weak at best.
