...I'd be cautious... not heard alot of good about bulk engine remanufacturers. Do a little research, you could probably do just as good (price wise) piecing one together and having it assembled by a professional.

X2! And, go with a proven Pontiac builder if possible. It's not a bargain when it breaks or has all types of problems because the builder at the sweatshop couldn't read the directions (no-speaka-English). Then your out whatever cash to build one correctly plus the 3 grand. Been there/done that/got the connecting rod up the poop chute.

I don't know who this company is, if you have a rebuildable core, don't let them have it!!!!

The times I've seen those deals is less than 1 in 10, wasted money.....

IF they have some sort of seemingly iron clad warranty, don't fall for that line of horse manure either!!!

I have heard of crate motors having sand in them. Some of these places take an old block, clean it, hone it and slap it together.

For what it's worth, I personally don't like crate engines unless they come from the dealer or someone that I know and trust. If you are capable of doing it yourself at least you would know what you have. Even if you buy all the pieces parts and have a reputable shop assemble it at least you would have someone local that you could go back to. I just went through that situation with my turbo 400. After pulling my tranny 4 times and finally me working on the last one sent I finally got one that works right for now. I just hope it holds together. Use someone local if possible is the best advise I could give you. To answer you post no I haven't heard of that company or their products. Good luck.

theres a builder local to me who specializes in pontiacs and has an ad in hpp called len williams machine in tulsa who comes pretty close to what those remaned 455s sell for. i think 3k gets the shortblock but garuanteed better than a remaned jobber plus there is no core charge. might cost just a few bucks more but in the end you have a much better motor. in any case id spend a few bucks more and use a pontiac builder and have piece of mind, or spen a few bucks less and give it a shot yourself, get a book with all the specs and go for it

a member of the Houston area firebird group bought one of their 400 builds and has a lot of trouble with it being underpowered and running hot. Could not convince him to tear it down to find out why. But he has been very methodical working out everything but the engine to improve the situation with no luck, last I heard.
