'69 HD rear end
On a stock HD Safe-T-Track rear axle (on a '69 Goat) the ring gear still has 10 bolts - correct? What is the diameter of said ring gear? How does it differ from the standard Safe-T-Track rear?

What I believe to be true -
Same ring gear as non-HD. 4 pinion diff (non HD has 2 pinion) HD has forged axles - rougher texture with slightly tapered ends - stronger than cast axles, which are smooth but look slightly beefier. Nodular iron housing - denoted by "N" cast into nose of housing. Scott

The ring gear diameter should be 8.2".

I have a 3.90 pinion/yoke in my garage, and it is definitely bigger than the chevy 8.2.
