Default Los Angeles Mechanic

Hello

I'm new to the club. I recently acquired a 1965 GTO. Tri-power, 4 speed. I'm looking for a shop in the LA area that can work on the car. I am trying to get the car in proper tune; I have retarded the timing to prevent pinging, but I am not happy with resulting performance.

Thanks, Paul

Paul, Welcome to PY!! You may want to post this in the help wanted forum also. There are a lot of great people in the LA area & am sure someone can recommend a good honest tech.

I wasn't going to post, but figured that others are reading this thread and might want further verification. Both Ken and Harry are my good friends, and both are definitely on my good shops list that produce a great product. Unfortunately that's pretty much the end of my trusted shops in Los Angeles area.

Meanwhile, my list of names on my bad list grows daily every time I have to fix some shop's screw ups on one of our club member's cars. So many shops can really lay on the BS about how good they are, but produce disastrous results - or worse yet bill for work and parts not delivered.

You're in Malibu - much closer to the Valley but in the Central LA County area...

C&J Engineering
Santa Fe Springs / 562.946.1388

They've been in business forever - they've tuned my GTO and LeMans and both cars run absolutely t!ts! If I had the $$$, I would give them a blank check and tell them to get the Firebird sorted out but...

Good luck - and welcome to the club!
