If you're talking about the Hurst Dual gate shifter, it's not a '69 or '70. It's a '67 or '68.

67 has 4 holes to mount top plate,68 has clips under the top plate(which maybe missing)again if your talkin bout a dual gate.

If Hurst, wouldnt it be marked so?
Guy pulled it from wrecked gto during late 80's, sold the console. Top plate has 3 bolts. 2 front/1 rear. Both front and rear mounting tabs curve downward. Round chrome lever with push down detent. No knob.

Mike, here's a thread I saved where I inserted a pic (or two of the 69-72 style Pontiac Auto shifters):
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=627019 This may be what you have...not sure if the markings you posted decipher to a particular year, however, as I do not have one to compare...

Sounds like the stock PMD shifter....except for the three screws? The Hurst Dualgate has a flat shifter handle with HURST on the side. No push down button on top and it actually has two slots, side by side for the stick to move into.
