Default Subframe repair

I have a subframe off my 67 Firebird, with 3 out of the 4 body mount holes that are rotted out larger than they are supposed to be. I was thinking of repairing these areas by cutting out the rot and welding in new plates and hole sawin' them back to the original size. Has anyone done this, and have any pics, and or advice? I was thinking this would be a more cost effective way for me to get my subframe back in shape.
