It's a place you go and see the newest and best of the racing industry.

See a lot of professional drivers and some TV racing personalities.

Then you go out drinking, mechanical bull riding, drink more beer, watch a band play, drink more beer, stop a fight at the bar with one of your boys and some other drunk guy, drink more beer, then see a guy laying on the ground with his nose get laid open from stem to stern like a filet steak, stop drinking so you sober up and take your drunk friends back to the hotel where they try to fight each other!

Good times!

I have been receiving flyers on the thing for 6 months.

The dates are pretty consistent for being around the fist week of December.

So I will take your comment as a Noobie kind of thing.

The average guy on the street non racer or automotive guy (unless they worked for the Convention Center, the Police, etc) would have no knowledge of the deal.

Here's the link: http://www.performanceracing.com/
It's a "trade only" show, but but no one really checks. Scroll down and you can sign up for their newsletter.
They put out a nice magazine too. I don't know why anyone would pay for the magazine that is essentially all advertising, but if you are a manufacturer or an advertiser you get it for free. Great for info on the latest racing products.

If you are a racer at any level, this is a must attend event. I have been to every one of them, as they moved around the country. Really glad it is now just 2 hours from home. Aside from looking at all the new racing bling, this is where you can get your questions answered by the owners, engineers and others who really know the products. Not some lightly trained kid on the phone sales line. This is where the professional racers go for new products, technical information and to set up buying for the next season. It is very low key as far as trying to prove how important you are. This year I saw John Force, Tim Wilkerson, John Kasse, Linda Vaugn, Mario Andretti, and dozens of other famous people quietly going about their business. Not a place for autograph hounds or stuff like that. It's all about racing and business. I have always just kept my distance quietly listened-in to hundreds of technical conversations going on around me. I have learned lots of valuable information just by being near these conversations. It's a don't miss activity for anyone who can get there. I have never heard anyone say it was a waste of time.
