Hello all - I am in the middle of a 1967 Firebird build. I am looking for a set of headers that fit WITHOUT mods for a Ram Air IV (722) round port heads. I would like 1 7/8" dia runners with a 3 1/2" dia collector setup that won't break the bank. Coated or uncoated. Any ideas? I am not interested in a cast iron setup BTW

You do know that almost all round port headers for the 1st gen have the passenger side tube go around the frame I believe?

Is that a problem?

I have a 69 Bird with 722 heads. I'm running ceramic coated Doug's headers and they fit great with plenty of clearance everywhere. I did not have to ding them or modify them in any way, as a matter of fact the install was very easy. No tubes go around the subframe and I can fit an extra long oil filter. This is on a manual steering non-A/C car. I did purchase these headers about 10 yrs. ago before Doug's was purchased by Pertronix so I can't say how good they will fit today. The down side is that they are expensive but you get what you pay for.

What's the tube size on yours, Andy?

Mine were racing headers BTW.

Tube size on my Doug's roundports is 1- 7/8".

I have the old Indian Adventures headers, which fit very well. No kick out over the frame, they look like regular 4-tube headers, round port, 2" primaries and 3.5" slip fit collectors with street hookups. Don't know if Indian Adventures made these themselves, or had a header company make them to their specs.

I had a set of Hedman 1-7/8" tubes with 3" collectors that had the kickout over the frame. Lots of finessing and reworking to get those to fit.
