Default Bolting rear seatbelts in a 1969

I was wondering which way the bolted end get bolted. Does the belt goes up towards the back or down to the front. Going up makes sense because the rear lip of the seat bottom goes up and behind the rear seat back. See photo. I think the right buckle would be correct. its been so long since I took them out. I couldn't find the thread that had pictures. Thanks
