I just acquired a 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix . Had it inspected as it was bought out of my province. Everything was good except the motor appears to be very close to or touching the cross member. Motor mounts appear to be new but it appears they might be incorrect.

Any advice on a brand or website that would sell the correct motor mounts?

Use a few !/2 inch large fender washers betwwen the frame mount, and the motor mount to space the engine up where you want it.

An alternative would be to use some steel plate and cut it to resemble a horse shoe. With this type of a shim you would not need to remove the bolt, just loosen the bolt, lift the engine and slide it in between the frame and motor mount.

The current aftermarket motor mounts made in Korea, leave a lot to be desired. They're made out of thin gauge metal, and the molded rubber is about the consistency of silly putty. I believe Ames now has better quality mounts available, but quality comes with a price. The FN601P polyurethane mounts are $259 per pair........

Looks like Summit Racing has a selection of mounts for your car.

At first, I thought the '65 took the same mounts as my '63 (those are pretty common from '59-'64), but apparently things changed in '65 (no surprise).

The good news is that it seems that several manufacturers make them. As to which is best, I haven't a clue, but it's a starting point for you, at least. As mentioned be wary of el cheapo replacements. I didn't see a listing on the Ames site for '65, but you can always ask. Otherwise, you have a few options.
