Posting looking for specific information on putting a Pontiac V-8 in a fox Mustang.
Has anyone here done this? What mounts, exhaust manifolds/ headers, fan, and transmission can fit? Is there a kit for this? Asking because I have a few buildable Pontiac engines, and recently came across a rust free engineless Mustang for practically free. Thinking that installing Pontiac power and torque could make it something fun to drive. Thanks for any info or comments. M.D. |

No idea, but it sounds fun. Imagine telling people you have a 428 and they assume a Ford but see a Pontiac. Awesome. I have seen quite a few LS engines in Fox body cars.

Steve C ought to be here soon. Steve has sponsored the Pontiac engine in a good friend's Ford Fairmont or Futura racecar. Believe that's the same basic unitized body & rack front end as the '79-84 Mustangs.

Can you spare the stock std-size 428 pistons?

Steve's friend John Dinkel has a Pontiac motor in his Fairmont that used to race the the "True 10.5" class here in Texas.
