Default 69 Lemans/GTO Reproduction Rear Bumper

Has anyone installed and is happy with the fit of a 69 reproduction rear bumper? Particularly the fit at the wrap around part of bumper where the ends meet the recessed vertical body line at the quarter panel? I’ve seen pics showing the poor fit but then seen other comments where folks say they fit well. Makes me wonder if it depends on when the parts have been made. Would like to see pics of relatively recent experiences. Of note, Ames describes the reproduction bumpers as very good with this note, “*MAY NEED TO OPEN BOLT HOLES UP TO ACCEPT CARRIAGE BOLTS* QUALITY AND FIT IS VERY GOOD. THESE ARE SHOW QUALITY COPPER NICKEL TRIPLE CHROME PLATED.”

All I have seen did not fit that good. I modified the brackets on mine for a tight fit front and back.

Thanks - do you have a close up photo of the sides/corners that shows the fit? Also, did you have to bolt holes for the carriage bolts?

I should have some pics I'll look. We cut about a 1/2" out of the brackets and welded it back together, that worked on the back on the front we slotted the holes.

Will,
I have one on my car and I'm happy with it. I'm not going for best of show as you know. If I had a RA4 Judge vert I'd search for an original to replate.

Had one on my car for a while until l got original recorded. Had to modify the mounting holes but that wasn't difficult. What I really didn't like was the fit around the taillights. The openings slope up toward the center. If you want one cheap I still have it. It's clean and I'd take $50 + shipping cost. I'm north of Philly about 40 mins.
