I have a 1963 Pontiac tempest 336/326 that has a 3-speed on the floor and the bushings were so worn that I could not go to second or third so my mechanic remove the bushing in the shift box up front and then stepped on it. I've looked online and I can't find a suitable replacement I'm looking for any kind of help to a part number or part numbers for the bushings to the shifter because there's so much slop but the tube is tight the inside of the tube is fine and tight it just seems it's all up front

Try Clark's Corvair part C1881 https://ssl.corvair.com/user-cgi/cat...?show_page=118. It should be the same GM did not reinvent the wheel with common small parts.
