My '65 GTO Tri-Power project car came with a disassembled 1967 nodular 4 pinion 8.2 rear end, and it is missing the bearing caps. The housing casting number is 9788647, with the large N cast into the top. Stamped code ZH on the left axle tube - 3.55 Safe-T-Track.
I've found a '68 Skylark 12 bolt to build for the car, but I'd like to get this rare GTO 8.2 back together for someone who needs a restoration piece. Obtaining the bearing cap part numbers will help me weed out the other gray iron BOP stuff. Thanks in advance for any help! Brian

Even if you find the caps, you will need the housing line bored, and my guess is the factory bored them with no axle tubes installed. These caps just like engine main caps, you simply cannot just bolt them on and hope they are right.

I went and looked in my '67 parts manual, original book from Pontiac, the caps are listed as NS, non-serviceable. You could not purchase them separate, they came with the housing. Like I mentioned above, every one was different and swapping parts around will not work.
