So I got a weather seal kit from Ames and it's not great but seems to fit ok. I installed the roof line weather seal for the windows/doors and today I got around to installing the vent window. I went to close the door and there is a massive gap between the seal and the vent window frame.
Now, I got this car in pieces so didn't see how it came apart and this is my first Pontiac build so I'm learning as I go, then dogging through my piles of parts and then cleaning and installing so it's a process. It's very possible I am missing a piece or maybe this seal is for a coupe and I need a specific one for a hardtop? Are the different? 1966 Lemans 2 door hardtop (no post) PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Could it possibly be the wrong year vent window, like maybe from a ‘64-‘65 or from a ‘68 ?
It appears to belong to a car with a more laid back windshield post, the angles don’t seem to match.

It might just be the picture playing tricks. Also I can as adjust it as well but in person it looks closer to parallel

Have easy to access nice condition vent window frame asm w non tinted glass from '67 GTO hardtop. Shipped the bare doors to IL, kept the vent frame asm & regulators .
Could take a bunch of measurements from that vent frame window asm, and fwd. Is def hardtop/convert vent window asm, as years ago, sold the 67 GTO Sport Coupe I owned as a nice super solid straight roller. Similar deal w '66 Tempest 2 door Post doors, gone & onto a phenomenal "66 Tripower 4 speed Sports Coupe.

Call Ames and ask them why the part they sold you doesn't fit. Looks like either you ordered the wrong one, they sent the incorrect one, or the part is a POS.

I could be wrong but, it looks like the lower attachment for the door window channel is attached in the wrong place so that the ventilation window frame is tilted back at the top?
Have you tried rolling up the side window in the door? |

Yeah I can adjust the tilt with the lower screw but it still doesn't bring it close enough. I do not have the side windows in yet.
