How much of the Moroso Hard Bloc filler is needed to fill a 455 block to the bottom of the freeze plugs? Also, I lost the instructions so how much water is added to the powder before putting it in the block?

If you are just going to the bottom of the freeze plugs I would say you could get by with the short fill. I has 2 6 1/4lb. bags. Each bag takes 16 to 18 fluid oz. per bag. If you have the tall fill bags that are 14lb. bags you can fill it to the water pump hole and they take 36 to 42 oz. per bag.

I couldn't get your on line catalog to load up. Let me have some details on the block filler please...price, your shop phone number, and why is this stuff better? I've never known the Moroso filler to fail but I would like to know some more.

Rather then debate the Moroso stuff. My filler flows like pancake batter. I have used a transmission funnel deep into the upper side behind the cylinders and poured it in the rear freeze plug to fill the whole block. Go around the front and pour in the rest to complete. Better flow. Sets up in an hour or two to do the other side and can bore and hone 24 hrs later. ![]() Can't get any easier. ![]() |
