I have a 75 T/A with a 4 sp. 400 .030 over, build date 10/74, 4X 7H heads,(96-98cc) date 10/73. I am in the prosses of rebuilding it. My questions are: If I mill the heads .050 I should get about 85cc out of them. Is this too much milling? The rebuild kit I'm looking at, (Summit), says with an 87cc chamber I'll get about 8.6:1. I would like to get 9:1 but don't think so. Next question is the cam. I want a healthy lope to it, but I need sugestions as to what cam to get. I have 1.5 rockers on it now. also 3.08 gears. I want to use an Edelbrock manifold and carb(700-750 cfm).

Thanks, Mike

Mike, I get 9.26:1 with those heads milled .060, making them 86cc's. This is taking into account 6cc's for valve relief,.039 thick head gasket, zero decking the block. Summit 2801 is a good candidate for a cam. If it's in your budget, work on the gearing, 3.5x or so would be a good combo.

'73 455 .030, stock cast pistons, stock rods all ballanced, 86 cc 6X 8 2.11/1.77 hand ported, stock intake,750 Qjet, SpeedPro 1175 cam, 3.73:1 10 bolt posi, slapper bars, MT ET Streets, Best ET 12.12 Best 60'1.43 Top MPH 109
