Or would that be Bridge clearance
I will be getting a new set of 4-tubes for it though & later I plan to get a Butler aluminum 540 next summer. If everything works out or I win the Loto.

Anyone have an 68'-72' A-body (hoping in central Ca) that can do a test fit for some headers? Maybe some one that allready has there exh manifolds off.

Ron

I'm Not sure....If they do fit I wonder if they'll make more power than my current set up with hedmann shortys going into 3 inch down pipes...kinda look like a tri-y now..The drivers side is the worse...I 'll post a pic...
what do you think Ron?

I just want to chime in here and say that I was really impressed with the quality and fit of these headers. They are really nice pieces. Thick flanges with a smooth face, great looking welds, thick tubing, easy oil filter and starter access, and a majority of the bolts are accessible by ratchet. All the reasons I got rid of the headers on my car are gone with these. I'd say the fit is on par or better than the set of factory Ram Air manifolds which I currently have on my car.

The only modification needed I saw would be finding a creative way to re-route the stock tranny cooler lines if you have an automatic. We came up with a couple ideas but if you are a sticker for a somewhat factory appearing car it might take some time to devise a presentable solution.

Thumbs up to Ron for putting the time and effort in to making such a nice product. It was great to meet you and I was happy to help out.

I already emailed you privately but again I will buy a set of the RAV's for my 69 GTO. Still doing them at the end of August? Jim

I have 3" pipe on now in anticipation for the supercharger setup, but I know its hurting me low end right now before I get to that point in project. I think the 2.5" collector size will be just fine as long as everything behind it is free flowing.

Thanks

Joe,
There thicker steel than most headers & I've heard from a few that had the original HO Tri-y's that they don't sound as tiny as a 4-tube does.

I also appreciate the update. I'm jealous that Formula8 already has seen these, but I can also wait until October. I have one friend that has run Tri-Ys on a 455 in the past, and he tells me that I'm in for one heck of a treat!

I took some pics of the # 5 & 6 exhaust bolts with a ratchet & a wrench to show the clearance & how easy they made then to get to.
On the O-ports you can easily get a socket & a wrench on both # 5 & 6 bolts. On the D-ports, the # 5 can easily use a socket & a wrench but the # 6 will only allow a wrench easily.
That feature aloan will take away 1/2 the cussing & daming while installing them.

Thanks Ron

Are the headers still on schedule? Do you have a new "expected date"?

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the update Ron. As a result of the test fit, I think all of your customers will be very impressed with the ground clearance of these headers. For us stick guys, I'm sure the slight delay will be worth it.

Thanks Ron for all of your work and time/money investment into these headers.

A buddy had a 455 Olds jet boat we skied behind. It hauled enough to scare me on the water! Could pop three skiers up easily. Why did they use so many Olds motors in those even compared to BBCs? They have about the same oiling system as our Pontiacs.

Headers came in yesterday. Thanks Ron for getting these done and sent out even though you're still working other issues with them. I also appreciate Ron calling yesterday to check satisfaction/fit. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to install them till early next week, but from what I'm hearing, it sounds like a fairly painless process when compared to other brand headers. The only issue Ron brought up was that the A/C on the automatic cars gets in the way, but all you have to do is unbolt the compressor bracket from the block and tie it up out of the way. Can't wait to get them on. I'll let ya'll know when I do.

I have a 79 T/A I am also interested in getting a set of your headers. I would really like to see the power difference between a 4 tub header and your header. The other set I was looking at were Doug's. this would be in a built 462
