Hi guys and gals, I need help...what does a date code of M218 stand for on a YS 400?? Is 250 dollars too much for a short block that has been sitting for 14 years inside a shop?

Assuming I was not used (and most times it wasn't).
December 21 1968 or 1978, depending on block casting #. I doubt it's a 1978.
