I just bought a 67 convertable and I need to stiffen this up!!!! I have a built 400 i want to drop in and I dont want to screw this ride up! I am interested in a cage, but i dont want to loose the back seat! any suggestions??? Also there is no bracing under the car. I only want bolt ons!! I dont want to chop this thing up. Xbrace? Subframe connectors??? or all 3??? Like i said i dont want to lower the value by welding alot of stuff on here. I always end up selling every car i build!!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car goes out to have floors put in real soon so i want to try and get everything done at once!!!!!!! I love this ride! I might not ever sell it, now that i think about it!!

breakneck88...check out the pictures of my '69 convertible. My Firebird
I use the X-brace as well as bolt in subframe connectors. The connectors must be notched and reinforced, but just bolted in. FYI, they bent badly without the reinforcements as the notches really weaken them. Check out the Suspension Upgrades page for pictures of the subframe connectors. Suspension Upgrades

You may also consider adding a Hellwig roll bar...they come with an additional set of mounting points up to the frame rails (requires drilling a couple holes in the frame rails). It is clearly pictured in the last picture under the suspension upgrades.

You can see the X-brace installation on the new firebird exhaust page new PYPES exhaust
You will get a better picture of the Hellwig sway bar install, the X-brace install using the new spacers from PYPES as well as the PYPES 2 1/2 inch full exhaust with the X pipe.
