I need to change the driven gear in my TH350 from a 39 tooth to a 45 tooth, but I found out the 45 tooth will not fit in the present holder(retainer) for the 39 tooth (slightly larger stem diameter as well as outside tooth diameter). I noticed that the present holder has numbers on the outside, like 36, 37, 38, 39 which I now assume is the size of the speedo gear that can be installed in this holder. Do I need to get a different holder for the 45 tooth (where?) or do I have the wrong speedo gear, or worse yet do I have to get a different drive gear for the transmission shaft? Thanks

M-38 sleeve for 40 through 45 teeth gear #1362285
Don't know how up-to-date the factory number is now. They might be able to cross-reference it,if it's out-dated. johnta1 Pontiac Power RULES !!! www.wallaceracing.com

Get ahold of Scott Esterelle at summit and order the housing. I just did the same thing. Tci sells them but they have a minuminum order, so they told me to get it through summit. It was less than $10.

You could also check with one of your local transmission shops, that's what I did, they had bins of these speedo parts to sort thru. They can help you figure out what gears you need too. I just did this same swap on my 66 Lemans!
