I personally witnessed 3 chevy powered cars refuse to run (one was a big block chevy, not sure about the others) a certain pure-pontiac powered firebird this friday after it rolled off the trailer and made a "test run".
Apparently the firebird owner had engaged in $benjamin runs with the chevy people beforehand and they backed out at the track Don't put a chevy engine in there. No need. |

O.K.,so I'm convinced...I'm going to sell my Ram Air V......It just doesn't look Impressive enough..maybe I'll have some valve covers made that make it look wider, bigger and bad to the bone.

Steve Barcak, I like your attitude! Brings to mind a story about an old freind. He was a mechanic at a wrecking yard in the mid 60s when I met him. He drove a 62 Chevy that he had bought new and the engine took a dump. They had gotten in a low mile 58 Pontiac so he swapped the engine and tranny. Some years later, after he had opened his own shop, I went to see him about doing some work for me. I noticed that there was a brand new Impala in front of his shop and said "I see your still driving Chevys" He told me to go look under the hood. What I saw was the same 58 370 that he had put in the 62. He told me that this was the third Chevy that he had put it in. He said that he rebuilt it before he put it in the 68. How's that? Buy a brand new Chevy, take it home, pull the engine, and put an older Pontiac in it!
Bill
