my 67 gto with a 389 has been running great since I bought it 5 mo ago, but today it bogged down bad under WOT about 3 sec after launch from stoplight...Got back to office and clear fuel filter between pump and carb is not full, rather bubbly, with no increase in volume when revved...Prior to this bogging incident, I was hotdogging the engine pretty hard and come to think of it I have been driving it pretty hard the last 2 days...Could I have pushed the pump over the edge, or is fuel sock in tank maybe to blame...Still idles nice and as long as I stay under 1/2 throttle car runs great. Any suggestions

If you can't maintain more than part throttle you sure sound like your running out of fuel.Check your fuel pressure. You should have 5.5 to 6 psi fuel pressure. Also remove output hose from pump and run into bucket. Have someone start engine and check for good fuel volume. Do it quickly before carb runs out of gas. After all these years the pump or the sock in the tank could be bad. Good luck.

Disconnected fuel line from carb, hooked up to pressure gage, started engine, getting 6 psi. Maybe it is the sock in tank, or maybe the pump is on the way out and is working inconsistently?? Anybody have experience like this, or do the pumps just go out completely, ie, they either work or not, no in between.

The pump can act up part of the time. One of the valves in it could be weak or sticking. If the diaphram goes the pump will either fill the crankcase with gas or quit completely.
