Does anyone know what the codes are on the rear axle of a '79 T/A. I would like to know what gear ratio my T/A has. I remember reading it in an issue of HPP, but I have looked through all of my back issues and I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

I have the following, however I'm not sure if they are model year specific:
COX = 3.55 COZ = 3.73 COL = 3.36 COV = 3.31 Chalk mark both the tire and the driveshaft. Rotate both tires simultaneously one full turn and count how many times the driveshaft turns. This will give you the approximate drive ratio. Possibly this will be close enough to confirm these codes are correct for your model year.
