Can the rear defogger for a 67 GTO be mounted in middle of the rear package tray instead of to the far left? Thus allowing for two rear stereo speakers to be installed on the outside? Will the openings work?

The shape of the cut out for the blower assist with the air flow. I don't think you could get the blower if you had two rear speaker (but not sure)
I would think it would be easyer to just leave the blower on the drivers side & mount the LH speaker in the center?

You can probably mount the defogger anywhere you want and cut the package shelf to install two speakers.
The defogger didn't work that well anyway so where it is mounted is academic if originality isn't important. Obviously, the stock location is for one speaker in the center and the defogger on the left side of the package shelf. |
