My 95' Grand Am has been through alot in the last couple weeks. The first thing I noticed was the ABS light staying on, and in that same day the carh left me sit, dead battery , we thought. We ad the battery checked, decided it was the starter...changed starter. Found that it was the ignition switch... changed the ignition switch. By then of course I needed a new battery. Thought we finally had it licked, driving nicely, ...until I tried to put on the A/C...it WAS working well before all the craziness... now I can hear the A/C when I turn the knobs, but nothing comes out. Oh and did I mention that we just had the alternator replaced this afternoon?
Can anyone tell me what to do about the A/C? I don't know if someone could've knocked a wire loose or something (perhaps while replacing the ignition switch)I don't know what to think at this point. If you took time to read this rant ...THANKYOU. Any help would be great! |

well Yogi, does the fan A/C fan work? does the clutch on the compressor click on to drive the compressor?
What about the A/C is not working besides the obvious lack of cold air? George

Thanks George, for taking an interest in my problem. You can call me Linda, Yogi is my cats' name
Concerning the clutch on the compressor, I'll have a look at that also. As I said, I can hear something kick in when I turn the knobs but nothing comes out. How do you determine whether it needs a new blower motor, or blower switch? Thanks again. |

If your fan doesn't work at all, I'd say the electrical connector to the heat & A/c controls may be off or loose, since there was messing around under the dash. Check the fuses too.
Rather unlikely that this would be an unrelated failure...probably caused during the above repair work. George
