Hey Guys, New to the forum, so far impressed. now for my Question. I have a 74 gto, Last year I replaced the stock 350 4bbl with a 66 389. I'm having a hot start problem. The car starts fine cold, once up to operating temp (195 degrees)It is very hard starting. Engine cranks over decent but will not fire right away. I have to crank for a while with the gas pedal down like it is flooded. I've checked floatlevel, installed new float, carb kit. no difference . I also had the carb, gone over by a qjet pro. It did not make any difference. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also what are the timing specs for this engine? Thanks

My first thought would be the plugs in the body of the Qjet are leaking, and as you say "flooding". Next time you shut it off, take the air cleaner off and look down the carb. If they are leaking, you will see the carb start to fill with "vapour".
