I saw Langer run a 8.93 and Ray run a 9.07 and 9.13.
Man thats sad when a N/A guy outruns a nitrous guy. Can we impeach Ray as the president of the 8 Second Club! |

It's not surprising he's having some teething problems with a brand new engine, I know he just finished it. How much time could he have possibly had to dial it in? I hope I no one's looking when I make my first pass with my new engine, such pressure! I have lots of faith he will best himself in the near future.

never mind...what i found said ray's best run was a 9.01, which left him in 17th.
props to langer for outrunning both of the guys who sold out and went to the dark side. i wonder how they feel looking up at john on the qualifying sheet? |

Brian. Felton didn' sell out. He was supposed to have an aluminum Pontiac combo & block and was forced to buy a Steve Schmidt engine so he could run for a Championship. BTW, it makes over 1000hp fora lot less moola.
But using all his stuff from the old Pontiac combo wasn't working. His old shortblock is in Ava's car. BTW: Very very nice people. Other's should be as nice. John is flying and should see 8.80's. Ran a 8.91 I think last pass Saturday evening. Guess who. Last edited by PONTIAC DUDE; 10-27-2009 at 02:44 PM. |

Bad news guys. Ray called last night to let everyone know. Broken rod on first full power pass. There were no indicators. Oil pressure was still good & filter is clean. He doesnt think anything else is hurt yet. Rumors in Rays class; A certain someone there may get a teardown tech inspection of a lifetime.

He made 2 full power passes?
Both over 154 mph. And 2 or 3 motor passes on Friday? Didn't he just install those NEW GRP rods because he said the BME rods weren't as good and sold them? Interesting. |

Ray called this morning, he definately hurt the motor. But he is planning to stage the car and take the points. He said that he thinks Gina (first round opponent) is hurt as well. He will be in Columbus "giving them heck"!!!
P.S. Does anyone know the Mean Street ladder? |

He made 2 hp passes on Friday(10.20/130mph). Water pump housing cracked. Saturday was first pass on N2O for only 3.68 sec. It shut down. ANOTHER problem to solve. Engine sounds ok, so he's going to stage for points. BTW, he switched to MGP rods. I wonder how hurt Gina is. Maybe he can make a pass for the next round.

Ray needs all the help he can get as he has the worst luck of anyone I have ever seen racing.
Congrats to Langer though! And Ava and Felton. Tom V.

Ray just called & asked me post that Langer just ran an 8.88. He's gone faster with every run & is in the hunt. The fastest guy slowed down to a 8.87.

Talking to John on Saturday and what he was working on and changes he was doing. I knew 8.80's was in the mix.
Weather is great this weekend with a tail wind Saturday. |

Congrats to Joey Winick for his win in N/SS in his Tempest.
I'm not sure how to comment on the whole corperate comment, I mean its not like these guys are being paid to run pontiacs, after a while I'm sure you get tired of all the work it takes or you see a clear advantage using a different combo. You do what it takes if you want to win a Championship and be something more than an also ran. Langer, Man you were bookin it this weekend huh? How close are you to the minimum weight? I think I saw you post on PROs board that you were a few pounds over? Thats flying man congrats. Ray, I hope you get it figured out and quick. I wish I could have been there. |
