The first question to ask is.....when you
turn the wipers off, do the blades drop down
a couple of inches lower than their lowest point when wiping? If they do not, then either you have the wrong motor(one for a tempest without concealed wipers) or the park switch is
bad in the motor. If the motor is too slow when wiping you probably need a new motor anyway, so
just make sure you buy the right one and everything should work when you install it. You
can only adjust the height of the wipers at the slot on the linkage that bolts to the motor.
The wiper arms will only install in one place
on a 69 GTO, due to a key on the splined shaft on the wiper transmission that fits into a notch in the splined hole of the wiper arm.

The Ames catalog I have indicates that a new
one is still available from General Motors. Ames
lists a price of 182.00.

I have a new old stock one but it would cost more than $182.00. The newer ones from GM would probably work well but they will not have the same originality, look, or even part number sticker on them.

I paid over $500 for a numbers matching date coded correct. I would sell my other one for $350.00 plus shipping. It is an original part number with early '70 date code.

70ramair,
Is that too early for 1970 Judge with an 02B build date?

gto19, here is a picture. This code might be considered correct for a 1970 02B car, as it is on my 02A car.

Top line, number is the part number. Second line, first set of numbers is the day code (353th (Dec. 19), in this case) second number is the year (1969, in this case). The rest are probably shift designations and such.

Racerboy -

Your car was produced in the 2nd week of April (1970) which would be anywhere from the Julian Date of 98-104

This wiper motor is julian date 79! It can't get much closer than that for you! The wiper motor was made anywhere from 19-25 days before your car was assembled!

Let me know if interested. I'm in NJ too. I am literally leaving in an hour to go to Peru for a 12 days (come back the 26th) so don't mind if I don't get back to this board for awhile.

You can email me at [email protected] and I may have email access down there. If not, and I can't get back on the PY board, then I'll check back in on the 26th.

Hi Racer

Just wanted to know if you were interested in the wiper motor. If not I'll just pack it away for another day!

Thanks

Phil
