I have a 78 TA also. Currently running a .030 over 400, CC 270 cam, RA3 exhaust with 4speed and 3.23 gears.Ran best of 14.7 @94mph-2.8 60' time last season. No traction with the standard. This winter I am refitting it with a 455 and TH400. Hope for better track results if I can get it to stick.

I just aquired the same vehicle a couple of days ago and am interested what you will be pushing with your new engine. I'm in the process of removing the engine and sending it out for a complete rebuild/upgrade. BTW, I was really lucky to find this jewel completely untouched by kids and in the most complete state it could be in. But it's been in a garage undriven since 1989.

3rd owner since 88. 76K, 16" GTA wheels, HO Tri-Y headers. Currently resides in parents garage and hasn't been registered since 95. Still runs great but needs 5spd Tremec or T56, suspension upgrade and some nice Recaro seats!

Trevor what parts and modifications did you do to make the T56 swap work???

I own a 1978 w/ T/A 6.6,auto and WS6. I ordered this car new and am now "cleaning it up" with new seat covers, headliner, etc. I ordered all options except for T-Tops (they were changing styles at the time and were having leakage problems) and power windows (I was playing college football and if rain was threatening, the managers would roll up windows....no way they were getting my keys!). It's been sitting idle in my garage since 1989 and I just replaced all fuel lines and cranked it up. The auto transmission needs an overhaul due to leaking seals, but the engine runs great! I'll soon have it back on the road!

It's in the sig. Been sitting in my parent's driveway for about 6 years; hasn't run in a little over a year. But I got the bug to resurrect her now and I recently yanked the front fender off only to discover a rat-snake living there.
