I removed my aftermarket chrome valve covers from the 455 and the stock covers seem to be a bit short. Even though no oil drippers are installed on the factory covers, the roller rockers are hitting the lower edge of the covers slightly.
Two questions: Since this is an AC car, the air conditioning to intake braket is pretty close to the passenger side valve cover. Does anyone make a thicker gasket that will cure this problem? If not, any recommendations on tall covers that look a bit stock? If I use tall covers, I'll cut the AC bracket and modify it to fit. I'd rather use stock height valve covers, but the tick is driving me nuts. Dave |

Use 2 valvecover gaskets per valvecover.
or Spotty has the extra thick gaskets for this situation.

If I use two gaskets, should I use some RTV between the two or will they seal up without?

Use Felpro part # 1627 - thick cork gaskets, had to use them to clear my roller rockers. Barry

Same here. I ordered mine from Nunzi which were $26/pr. No more clearance problems. You may find you need a bit longer bolt for the valve covers.

Not sure how much clearence you need but, the Felpro #FPP-1627 is 1/4" thick as stated above and they are only @ $18.00 in Summit and Jegs!
