I'm new to this sight & just purchased a 68 Catalina Convertable. Body & motor are in great shape but the Interior was removed, I have a line on a 68 Boneville Convertable & wonder if door panels & Front seat are innerchangable? Also wondering how many were made that year?

I believe the door panels and seat will physically fit. There are likely to be differences in the appearence between catalina and bonneville items. There was an article recently in one of of Hemmings magizines, maybe collector car or similar title? If memory serves correctly the article gave a production level of approximately 7500 bonneville convertibles.

If you buy the bonneville, I'm looking for the convertible header bar.

The Bonneville seats and door panels will bolt right in, but will have a different upholstery pattern than the Catalina parts. I'm not 100% sure on the rear seat side panels, but I think they will work as well.

In 1968 there were 7,339 Catalina Convertibles and 7,358 Bonneville convertibles made.

Thankyou junkman I will be looking at the car again in the next couple of days [its in a salvage yard]. I'm trying to get as much info before makeing any purchases. Either way I'll take a look for you. The Boneville has power seats and windows but I plan on reskining them. My ? was to How many 68 Catalinas may have been made & also as to how Collectable they may be? Thanks For any info!

The 65-68 big cars, Catalina, Grand Prix, and Bonneville, are cars I think will become more valuable as the GTOs, Lemanses, and Firebirds continue to climb into 20K-80K price ranges. You can buy a fully restored big car for what a project car of the above will cost. Personally, the '68 Catalina is one of my favorites.

As for the interior question, I believe most parts will fit, but I don't think the rear side panels will...Bonnevilles were a few inches longer in the wheelbase, and I think it was behind the doors. Hope this helps, Dave

Thank You Guys for the info this has been some of the best Info in the past 12 hours that i've recieved over the past 2 weeks. Glad to be a member! I'm in the process of putting new front drums, brakes & stablizer bars, along with new seals to the transmission. I'll be [hopefully] starting the interior next week & would like to have it on the road by mid August. Keep the info comeing I realy appriciate it.

Hey junkman the owner of the salvageyard has been out of town I finaly talked to him this morning. I will be going there either friday or saturday I'll take a look for you. I do know a goat ate the top off about a year ago but I don't Know about any of the frame condition. The Yard is near Threerivers, Michigan Give me any details of what your looking for & I'll let you Know about them.

Thanks again for the helpfull Info. I Picked up interior panels from Bon. & they match the Cat. Perfectly even back panels. Icould not pull the front seat, bolts were to rusty, may have to be cut out but also had other damage, if any one has a front seat that would fit [preferably near southern Michigan] I would be Interested.
