Pant, Pant, Pant!!
My car thinks I don't love her anymore because I haven't spent any money on her in a while.
That aluminum intake might make her very happy - the car that is .

Will the new manifold be cast where it will work with later design heads? I have a '66 tri-power grafted on a '74 400 block. The exhaust bypass for the choke of course does not work, it has a metal cover plate. It would be nice if I could have a decent working choke since a lot of my driving is short mileage cruising. Let us know about the compatability for later year heads.

Henry, it looked to me like it was a direct copy
of a 66 intake and therefore would not work on a later head.

The stainless steel blockoff shim trick will work with '65-71 intakes on '72+ heads.

Looking forward to the new intakes... my tripower carbs need a few new friends.

Well!

Been 6 months and still the guy has not given Chris a representative intake to flow test. Maybe
he doesn't want to know the answer.

Not Chris fault. Chris did his part trying to get
interest started. (Plus a lot of his money at stake).

Still waiting. Tom V.

3 new samples have been delivered to Florida where an initial test of one appears to fit nicely. Tests on a running motor will take place this week. Provided those tests are successfull, we should be able to start shipping within 30-45 days.

I believe that Demon is about to release a tripower carb targeted at the Chevy market but with an optional base plate to satisfy Pontiacers. Both 350 and 500 cfm versions are planned. I was told late Fall release. We could easily design linkage and a fuel line kit for these carbs. I think this is a great opportunity for the performance minded Pontiac enthusiast.

Well Boys!

I guess I nagged Chris enough that I am out of the loop on the testing now!

No offence but we all know they have to be able to run on a vehicle. I would like to see a comparision between a stick unit and a repo unit. Or at least know about possible mods to it.

Tom, I still want you to test one of the first manifolds I get. However, this project is moving at a pace that is not under my control. And since we have waited so long I guess that's not such a bad thing to finally get it on some cars. Also, There is a VERY GOOD chance that a second run of these intakes could have improvements added.

Agree that you are definitely not in the driver's
seat on this one based on the actions of the
person selling them. All of the interested people
on the board will look forward to the track type
testing and will be asking for specs on the car combinations so that we can determine if the data
is valid.

Remember a test by Pontiac where the data was
skewed to reflect favorably for the 4MV Rochester
Q-jet vs the carry-over TRI-POWER. We don't need
that kind of BS again. Tom V.

Thank you
Tech @ Barry Grant, Inc.

Thought I might pass this along. I WAS planning to use these carbs. Any ideas on another carb package to go with the intake?
thanks,
Dave

Then maybe I should wait for the second run on this manifold. I want optomin air flow with a retro look. !!!!!!! Not just a aluminum manifold.
No offence intended Chris.

The information about the Demon carbs I received was from a very well respected performance Pontiac engine builder. We'll see.

Seperately, the same person making the intake is also working on a specially machined intake/spacers so Holley 2 bbls can be mounted.

The point is.....someone is going to make a carb that is readily available, work on this intake although it was not the original intended purpose.
