Hi all, I recently picked up a 455 block and I wasen't exactly sure what I had, I took the numbers off the block and looked up the code which is #485428, I found that code to match 3 different 455 blocks all cast in 3 different years, 1st a 71" late H.O, 2nd a 72" and 3rd a 74" and So naturally I'm a little confused. Can anyone shed some light on this to help me figure out which year block I bought. I'd appreciate any and all help.

Look next to the distributor hole.
There is usually a 2 digit year number. Look on the passenger side of the engine on the front below where the head would sit. There will be some numbers and below that a 2 digit code. Find that and it will tell us more.
